Pesach season 2026-2027

The night to be remembered will occur on april 1st, our april 2nd, the 14th day of the first month

« This do in Remembrance of Me ! » : A Night centred on Himself and His Death.

To start, let us take note that this year the first day of the scriptural new month will occur the same day as the vernal equinox, on march 20th. To this effect, Pesach is due to be remembered the night of april 1st, the beginning of our april 2nd. This will be the our 14th day of the first month.

Now that the Pesach season draws near, we need to get prepared spiritually. To continue with, the week of matzah/unleavened bread will be on friday april 3rd – thursday april 9th. And the Feast of the Firstfruits, on sunday april 5th, an honorable time to be remembered because Yehoshua HaMashich has become the Firstfruit of those who have fallen asleep, and if He did not raise from the dead, there would be no resurrection of the chosen.

According to Leviticus 23 : 4 - 5, YHVH Elohim Elohei Ishrael has appointed Set-apart assemblies to be observed by the Children of Ishrael, in their seasons (on a yearly basis), and the Pesach night on the 14th of aviv is one of them. He instructed as follows :

« These are the Seasons of prayer appointed by YHVH, Set-apart assemblies that you shall proclaim in their respective season. The 14th day of the first month, in the evening, is the Pesach to YHVH ».

The period of time « in the evening » is prophetic. But when is the « in the evening » period ? Definitely, the night-time does not occur yet, it is in fact the period before sunset.

The 14th night to be remembered begins at the end of the 13th (considering that the scriptural day begins at sunset) If Pesach is observed at sunset of the 14th , then you observe Pesach on the 15th. That way the 14th will become the 15th.

To bear in mind : Pesach and the Week of matzah are two distinct Appointed Times, and eating unleavened bread is imperative.

For Covenant believers and keepers, what the Pesach night to be remembered should mean to them ? It should be an appointed time to allow them to reaffirm their Covenant relationship with YHVH Elohim through His Sent-One, The Anointed One, Yehoshua Ben HaElohim.

The killing of the Pesach in Egypt foreshadowed the Sacrifice of The True Pesach

An animal had to be killed and Yehoshua of Natzaret had to shed His Blood as being The True Pesach to YHVH Elohim, in view of restoring His unfaithful Bride, the House of Ishrael, because of her unfaithfulness. His shed-Blood would seal the New Covenant for the forgiveness of their sins.

What is meant by New Covenant is a New Marriage Arrangement, taking into account that YHVH Elohim made a Marriage Covenant with the House of Ishrael at Har Sinai.

Regathering through a New Covenant
Through a New Marriage Arrangement

1 Yehochanan 4 : 10 : « This is Love : not that we loved YHVH Elohim, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the Payment Sacrifice for our sins »

When YHVH Elohim spoke about making a New Marriage Covenant, let us take note that the Terms of the Covenant remain the same, The Ten Words, and no more Words engraved on tablets of stone but through a totally different Arrangement.

Yirmeyah 31 : 31 (quoted by the Apostle Sha'ul/Paul according to his Letter to the Hebrews, chapter 8 : 7) : « Behold, the days come says YHVH when I will make a New Covenant with the House of Ishrael and with the House of Yehudah ».

How ? YHVH Elohim sealed a Covenant with blood, no shed-blood, no forgiveness and no Redemption : The Blood that foreshadowed the Spiritual Redemption.

Let us recall that when the Time of deliverance of the nation of Ishrael from the bondage had come, YHVH Elohim, through His Command to put on the blood of the lamb on the lintel and the two doorposts, as a sign for Him not to destroy the firstborn in the house, passed over that house when He stroke the land of Egypt.

Let us also recall that what is written under Shemot (Ex.) 24 : 6-8 foreshadowed the very shed-Blood of Yehoshua HaMashiach: « And Moshe took half of the blood and put it in basin, while he sprinkled the other half on the Altar. Then he took The Book of The Covenant and read it to the people. And the people said : All that YHVH has spoken we will do and obey. And Moshe took the blood and threw it on the people and said : Behold The Blood of The Covenant that YHVH has made with you concerning all these Words ».

According to the Letter to the Hebrews, chapter 9 : 18, as a matter of fact no Covenant was ratified without shedding blood : « So even The First Covenant has not been sanctified without blood ».

The prophetic period of « in the evening » fulfilled

Mark 15 : 25 : « And it was the 3rd hour when they crucified Him ».

And fulfilling the Redemptive Plan of YHVH Elohim, He was recalling the prophetic wailing of His father David about Himself according to Tehillah (Ps.) 22 : 1 : « Eli, Eli, why have You forsaken Me ? », through the following writing :

Mark 15 : 33-34 ; 37 : « And when the 6th hour came, darkness fell over the whole land until the 9th hour. And at the 9th hour Yehoshua cried with a loud Voice and said : Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani ? which is being translated : My Elohim, My Elohim, why do You forsake Me ? ... And Yehoshua cried out with a loud Voice, and He died ».

To bear in mind :  the hours in reference referred to the hours of prayers at the Temple in the 1st century in the days of Yehoshua HaMashiach. This is absolute, and this was how He fulfilled the timing of the killing of the Pesach in Egypt as the True Pesach Himself.

But not only about the prayers but even about the two-daily offerings in the wilderness. See, how He also fulfilled the morning and the evening offerings. According to Numbers 28 : 3-4, there were a morning and an evening sacrifices offered : « And tell them (the Children of Ishrael) : This is the fire-offering you will offer to YHVH : two one-year old lambs every day and without blemish for continual burnt offerings. The one lamb you shall offer in the morning, and the other lamb you shall offer in the evening ».

The timing of these offerings would help us to understand that Yehoshua HaMashiach was indeed The Ultimate Pesach. He was crucified in the morning and died in the evening :

The 3rd hour is the equivalent of 9th a.m

The 1st lamb offered // They nailed Him. He fulfilled the morning-offerings.

The 6th hour is the equivalent of noon
Darkness covered the whole land until the 9th hour.

The 9th hour is the equivalent of 3 p.m – The Prophetic Hour.
The 2
nd lamb offered // He gave His last. He also fullfilled the evening-offerings

This was the Hour He was talking about when He said, according to Yehochanan 12 : 27 : « Now My Soul is troubled ; and what shall I say : O Father, save Me from this Hour ! But for this I came, to this Hour ».

At that Hour, The Anointed One of YHVH Elohim became The True Pesach Lamb, our Pesach.

The True Pesach, The Ultimate Pesach
The Sacrifice once-for-all of Yehoshua HaMashiach

Once more, according to all that is written concerning The Pesach of YHVH Elohim Elohei Ishrael, the first Pesach in Egypt foreshadowed The True Pesach Who is unquestionably HaMashiach of YHVH Elohim, His Beloved Son Yehoshua.

Today, it is therefore accurate and right to observe the Night Pesach to commemorate His Death, once a year on its season, on the 14th of the first month.

When Yehochanan the Immerser saw Yehoshua HaNatzaret, he declared : « Behold The Lamb of Elohim ! » - Yehochanan 1 : 36. Surely the first Pesach killed in Egypt foreshadowed Him. He was the True Lamb of YHVH Elohim Who will shed His own Blood for a spiritual Salvation, instead.

1 Kefã (Pr) 2 : 24 : « And He bore our sins in His Body on the cross, so that we might die to sin

and live to righteousness ; and 'by His Wounds you were healed' ».

1 Corinthians 5 : 7 : « For HaMashiach, our Passover Lamb, has been sacrificed ».

Hebrews 7 : 27a : « Who has no need to offer daily sacrifices like do those high priests, first for their own sins and then for the sins of the people ; for He did this once for all when He offered Himself ».

Hebrews 9 : 12 : « But He did not bring the blood of goats and calves, but His own Blood, then He entered once for all into The Holy Place thus obtaining Eternal Redemption ».

Hebrews 9 : 25, 26b : « And He did not enter to offer His Body often, like the high priest enters every year The Holy Place with the blood of something else ... But now He has been revealed once for all at the end of the ages to remove sins by the Sacrifice of Himself ».

Hebrews 10 : 5-6 ; 8 : « Therefore, when He came into this world, He said : Sacrifices and meal offering You did not desire, but a body You have prepared for Me. The burnt offerings and the sin offerings you have not delighted ... After he said : The sacrifices and the meal offerings and the burnt offerings and the sin offerings (which are offered according to the law) (sacrificial law), You have not desired, nor have You delighted ».

Hebrews 10 : 9, 10, 12, 14 : « Then He said : Behold, I have come to do Your Will. He takes away The First to establish The Second. By that Will we have been sanctified through the Offering of the Body of Yehoshua HaMashiach once for all. ... But He, having offered One Sacrifice for sins for ever, now sat down at the Right Hand of YHVH. ... For by One Offering, He has perfected for ever those to be sanctified ».

Hebrews 10 :16-18 : « This is The Covenant that I will make with them after those days says YHVH : I will put My Torah into their heart, and I will write them in their minds. Then He says : Their sins and their iniquities I will remember no more. And when there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer any offering for sins ».

Hebrews 10 : 19-20 : « Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter The Holy Place by the Blood of Yehoshua, by The Way He has consecrated to us, a New and a Living Way, passing through the Curtain which is His Body ».

Yehoshua HaMashiach and His Last Pesach

Yehochanan 13 : 1 : « And before the Chag Pesach, because Yehoshua knew that The Hour had come that He would depart from this world to The Father » ...

The Last Pesach He had with the Disciples - they, He and His Disciples called it « Pesach », so it was Pesach, nothing else but Pesach - was centered in Himself, in His Body and in His Blood, and He identified Himself with the two traditional but prophetic Pesach symbols of physical salvation in Egypt : the lamb and the unleavened bread. There was no mention of sharing roast lamb or eating bitter herbs as they did at the original Pesach in Egypt. If it was the case, did not Yehoshua speak about the lamb to eat like they did in Egypt ? But instead He spoke about the bread to symbolize His Body. By this, He wanted His Disciples to make the connection between Himself, His Redemptive Day, and the day they still brought Pesach lambs at the Temple.

To this effect, it is to be realized that from that night every Pesach sacrifice is not longer required, because in a few hours He will become the True Pesach Lamb.

Matthyahu 26 : 17-18 : « And on the First day of matzah (bearing in mind that Pesach is to be observed with matzah, so this is surely why this Disciple called it First day of matzah), the Disciples came to Yehoshua and said : Where do You want us to prepare for You to eat the pesach ? And He said : Go into the City, to a certain man, and tell him : The Teacher says : My Time (referring to His approaching Death, an Appointed time He had to fulfill) is near ; thus at your place I and My Disciples will keep the Pesach ». Again, He referred to this Event as the Pesach !

Because He knew that He was The Ultimate Pesach, The Lamb of Elohim that will offer His Body and shed His own Blood, and once for all in a short while at that time, He then replaced the lamb once eaten in Egypt with matzah and He called it « This is My Body ». Unquestionably it was a matzah, unleavened bread, which prophetically represented Himself as the lamb without blemish. And along with the matzah, He shared with the Apostles a cup of the fruit of the vine to symbolize His own Blood that He called « This is My Blood ».

According to what is written, this was how they kept this Last Pesach : through the prophetic symbols of matzah and the fruit of the vine.

The matzah, as His Body

Luke 22 : 19 : « And He took bread, and when He gave Thanks, then He broke it and gave it to them, saying : This is My Body given for you ; this do in Remembrance of Me ! ».

Sometimes, we are to be careful with the translation, as many have hard time to acknowledge the fact that the « bread » spoken is nothing but « matzah ». According to Exodus 12 : 17-18, it is written : « And you shall observe the Day of unleavened bread ; for on this very Day I have brought your clans out of the land of Egypt, therefore you shall observe it throughout your generations as a Perpetual Ordinance. On the 14th day of the first month, in the evening, you shall eat unleavened bread until the evening of the twenty-first day of the month ».

The Cup of Redemption that He Alone was able to drink. The cup, as His Blood, the Blood of The New Covenant

When He held up « The Cup of Redempton », He said : « And likewise the Cup, after the evening meal, then He said : This Cup is The New Covenant in My Blood that is poured out for you ».

When He said, according to Matthyahu 26 : 19 - // Mark 14 : 25 // Luke 22 :18, as it is written : « And I say to you that from now on I will not drink of this fruit of the vine until the day when I will drink what is new with you in the Kingdom of My Father comes », did He drink it with them ? I believe He did not. He wanted them to perceive how much He desired to drink it with them but no longer that night as His Hour to shed His own Blood, the Redemptive Appointed Hour, as the True Pesach Lamb, draws near, the next morning.

As I see it,
I fervently expect to drink this New fruit of the vine with Him in the Kingdom of His Father ! How about you ? But until then, I will surely reaffirm my Covenant relationship with The Father through Him !

Yehochanan 19 : 28-30 : « After this, Yehoshua knew that all things were now finished to fulfill The Scripture, then He said : I am thirsty. And a vessel full of sour wine was sitting there ; and there was a sponge full of the sour wine that they put on a branch of hyssop and brought it up to His Mouth. And when Yehoshua tasted the sour wine, then He said : « It is finished ! ». Then He bowed His head and gave up His Spirit ».

Based on the above-quoted scriptures, I believe that there was mention of three Cups :

(1) The Cup of the fruit of the vine He gave to the Disciples to share among them to allow them to remember that they will be redeemed from sins through Him. A New Covenant mindset has been established.
«
For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed … but with the Precious Blood of HaMashiach the Lamb without blemish or defect » - 1 Kefã (Pr) 1 : 18
(2) The Cup He Alone was able to drink, the Cup of suffering and death, and
(3) The Cup that He will drink with them in The Kingdom of His Father. At that Time He will be the Victorious Son Who has completed the Work His Father asked Him to accomplish.

Therefore, apart from the Cup of the fruit of the vine He gave to the Disciples to share among them, this is what I usually do and I would like to share with you : the two other Cups could also be put on our table to symbolize a/ The Cup He had drunk, left emply, and b/ The New Cup He will drink with His Bride, also left empty.

The Redemptive Hour

Matthew 20 : 28 : « Just as the Son of man came not to be served but to serve, and to give His Life as a ransom for many ».

Matthew 26 : 38-39 : « Then He said to them : My Soul is very sorrowful to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with Me. And when He went a little farther, He fell on His Face and prayed, saying : Avi (My Father), if it is possible, let this Cup pass from Me ! Nevertheless, not My Will, but Your Will ! ».

Yehochanan 12 : 27 : « Now My Soul is troubled ; and what shall I say : Father, save Me from this Hour ! But this is the very reason I came, to this Hour ».

He died in order to restore His unfaithful bride

Yirmeyah 11 : 10c : « The House of Ishrael and the House of Yehudah have broken My Covenant that I made with their
ancestors
».

Yirmeyah 16 : 10b-13 : « But what is our iniquity, and what is our sin that we have sinned against YHVH Eloheinu (our Elohim) ? Then say to them : Because your fathers have forsaken Me declares YHVH, and because they have followed idols, and because they have served and worshiped them, and because they have forsaken Me, and because they have not kept My Torah. And you too, you have done worse than your fathers. See, every one of you follows the stubbornness of your evil and do not listen to Me. So I will cast you out of this Land (the Land of Promise) into a land that neither you nor your fathers have known. There you will serve idols day and night, for I will show you no Mercy ».

Luke 23 : 46, during the time of darkness : « Then Yehoshua called out in a loud voice and said : O Avi, into Your Hands I commit My Spirit ! And when He had said this, He breathed His last »

Hebrews 9 : 12 ; 15 ; 18, 28 : « And He did not bring the blood of goats and the blood of calves, but His own Blood, and entered one time into The Holy Place and obtained Eternal Redemption. ... And for this reason He is The Mediator of The New Covenant, when He endured death for redemption from the transgressions commited under the First Covenant so that those who are called may receive The Promise which is the Eternal Inheritance. ... Therefore not even The First Covenant was not sanctified without blood. ... So also HaMashiach when He offered once to bear the sins of many, He shall appear the second time - not to bear sin - to those who await Him, for Salvation ».

Yehoshua HaMashiach Himself came in flesh in order to redeem His unfaithful bride, the House of Ishrael, through His shed Blood.

Prophecy about the regathering

Yirmeyah 31 : 4a : « I will again build you, and you will be rebuilt, O virgin Ishrael ! ».

Yehochanan 11 : 51-52 : « And he did not say this from himself, but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Yehoshua was about to die to save the nation (referring to Yehudah), and not to save this nation only (Yehudah), but also to gather into One (Yehudah and Efrayim) the Children of YHVH Elohim who were scattered (the northern Efrayim) ».

How would the Night Pesach be commemorated today ?
« This do in Remembrance of Me ! ». A divine Command to be honored !

First, should Pesach be still remembered and observed today ? Absolutely, as it belongs to YHVH Elohim, as it is written according to Shemot (Ex.) 12 : 14 : « And this Day will be a Memorial to you and you shall keep it as a Feast to YHVH ; throughout your generations you shall keep this Day as a Feast, as a Perpetual Ordinance ».

Consequently, when He said « This do in Remembrance of Me ! », how should the Pesach night be observed today ? The same way He had observed it with His Disciples as recalled above, under the section concerning « Yehoshua HaMashiach and His Last Pesach ».

As it was centered in Himself, in His Body and in His Blood, then the Remembrance should be centered in Yehoshua HaMashiach Who was the Fundamental Part of that Night.

To this effect, the Remembrance should be centered with the sharing of matzah and fruit of the vine to recall the Redemptive Work YHVH Elohim did through the Death of His Son.

The
Remembrance of Him would be done according to what happened that Night, according to the Words of The True Pesach Lamb of YHVH Elohim Who said, Luke 22 : 17-20 : « And He took a cup and gave Thanks and said : Take this and share among you ; for I tell you that from now on I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the Kingdom of YHVH Elohim comes. And He took bread, and after He gave Thanks, broke it and gave it to them and said : This is My Body which is given for you ; this do in Remembrance of Me. And likewise the cup, after the evening meal, then He said : This cup is the New Covenant in My Blood that is poured out for you ».

To clarify : When He said : « And likewise the cup, after the evening meal, then He said : This Cup is The New Covenant in My Blood that is poured out for you », was it another Cup, different from the one under verse 17 or the same ? I believe that He was referring to the same Cup. Why is it so ? Because only one Cup was to be given and shared among them to symbolize His own Blood He was about to shed.

Mark, according to Mark chapter 14 : 22-24 wrote it right. I believe, as he wrote concerning the Cup of The New Covenant affirmed by Yehoshua HaMashiach : « As they were eating, Yehoshua took bread, and after giving Thanks, broke it and gave it to them and said : Take, this is My Body. Then He took a Cup, and after giving Thanks, gave it to them ; and they all drank of it. And he said to them: This is My Blood of The New Covenant, which is shed to save many ».

The same way, Sha'ul the Apostle said it as follows,
according to 1 Corinthians 11 : 26 : « For whenever you eat this bread and drink the cup, then you proclaim the Death of HaAdon until He comes ».

To bear in mind : « For whenever » is simply recalling the timing of Pesach in its season. Thus the proclaiming of His Death by eating « this bread » and by drinking « the cup » should only occur once a year at the time of Pesach.

How about the use of the term 'bread' ? It was Pesach season, and generally no other bread but matzah was found in the market in the Land of Covenant. This is a biblical mindset and translation should not allow us to get stuck. He did not give them a leavened bread to symbolize His Body.

Can every one at every age, infants and/or adults male or female, partake of the Pesach ?

If Yehoshua HaMashiach was The Ultimate Pesach, then before every one could come and share the Table of Pesach with Him, on the very spiritual sense of the Remembrance, he or she first needs to get spiritually circumcised through Tevilah, that is through immersion.

I understood from the words of Sha'ul the Apostle, according to his Letter to the Colossians, that even a non-circumcised man would be spiritually circumcised through the Circumcision of Yehoshua HaMashiach, and based on the Decree of YHVH Elohim about who can eat and who cannot eat the Pesach, this man could remember the Pesach Night.

Have you ever been circumcised by Him ?
If not yet, let Him circumcise you today, so that you may remember the Pesach Night !

Colossians 2: 6 ; 9-12 « Therefore, as you have received Yehoshua HaMashiach HaAdon, so continue to walk in Him. ... For in Him dwells the Fullness of the Whole Nature of YHVH Elohim. And you are complete in Him, and He is The Head of all rule and authority, and in Him also you were circumcised by the circumcision of HaMashiach, not performed by hands by putting off the body of the flesh, for you were buried with Him in immersion, which you also raised together with Him because of faith in the Works of YHVH Elohim Who raised Him from the dead ».

« Glorify YHVH for He is Good, for His Mercy endures for ever !
Let the redeemed of YHVH say so,
whom He has redeemed from the hand of the adversary,

and gathered from other lands, from the east and the west,
and from the north and from the sea
! »
Tehillah (Ps.) 107 : 1 – 3
